Monday, March 30 through Monday, April 20, 2026: Back in Williams, Home Visit by Jan and Weimaraner Lacey,

The clouds in the sky here in Williams can be captivating. Welcome home!

On Wednesday, April 1, I joined the Highland Meadows Ladies for lunch at Cruisers 66 Cafe. It was a nice way to get integrated back into the community.

Later in the afternoon, Atomic Pest Control came to our house for the bi-monthly pest control.
On Thursday, I had an appointment in Flagstaff with my podiatrist, Dr. Anthony Rosales. I have been having problems with corns between my toes and an uncomfortable growth on the bottom of my left foot. Dr. Rosales did the trick!
Driving home, I tried to capture snow on Mt. Humphreys.
Jan Miller and her Weimaraner, Lacey, arrived at our home Thursday afternoon. She and Lacey will be our house guest most of April. Friday morning, I spied a rather large gathering of mule deer on the lot next door.
Preston was still enjoying Jan's bed --- while Lacey went out to bark at the deer. Needless to say, they left the area.

Preston finally joined Lacey in the back yard, but the deer were long gone.

Later in the afternoon, I took Jan, Lacey, and Preston to the east end of Cataract Lake. We walked along the dam.

It was a beautiful day and the lake glowed.
That evening, we saw the beginning of Jan's role as the "dog whisperer." Both Preston and Lacey shared space on the couch with Jan.
Saturday, there was more loving of dogs on the couch --- with or without Jan.

That evening, the sunset was very special. With all of the pine trees, sunsets are not as glorious as they are in Casa Grande.

On Sunday late afternoon, Tom and I went to see Marko play his music.

The venue was DJ's Wild West Junction.

Tom and I had dinner on the outside patio and we listened to Marko
This day, Sunday, was also Easter. My sister Wendy shared photos of their celebration in Pasadena.
My niece, Katelyn, has two beautiful daughters, Lily and Emi.
It was nice to see Easter day in Pasadena.
My sister, Carrie, also shared a photo of Easter Day in Cartersville, Georgia.
Tom had a follow-up appointment in Flagstaff with Audiologist Michael Skelton. He has had his hearing devices for about eight months. Some tweaks needed to be made.
After Tom's appointment, we stopped at Cold Stone Creamery for several scoops of ice cream.
That evening, I was able to photograph part of a sunset.
Wednesday morning, Colleen Hatton came to clean and service our home. Colleen is a special friend and she works exceptionally hard.
Jan and I took Lacey and Preston to town. They enjoyed posing with Betty Boop.
A neighbor shared a beautiful photo of Mt. Humphreys and the luxury of spring snow.
A couple from Ontario, Canada, were in Williams for several days. They wintered in Bullhead City and were slowly heading back to their home in Eastern Canada. Gary Preston and I met Luba and Eric Van for several hours of pickleball. Yes!
Later in the day, I took Jan, Lacey, and Preston to Kaibab Lake. The lack of snow this winter was evident.
But, Lacey and Preston thoroughly enjoyed the walk.
On Friday, April 10, Tom had a follow-up appointment with ophthalmologist Dr. David Felsted.

Tom's right eye continues to deteriorate in vision. The macular pucker in his right eye is the culprit. Dr. Felsted referred Tom to a retina specialist who is part of the Barnet-Delaney-Perkins organization  --- Dr. Brendan Girschek. He has an appointment in early June.

Later in the afternoon, Tom, Jan, and I watched the retrieval of the Artemis II crew. These five astronauts circled the moon. It is amazing the precision of the operation!

Saturday, Jan, Lacey, Preston and I went back to Cataract Lake. It was a beautiful afternoon.
Sunday afternoon, Jan and I went to the Poozeum in downtown Williams. It is the world's only museum dedicated to preserving and exhibiting dinosaur poop.
Monday morning, Jan and I took the dogs to Williams for a casual walk. Preston and Lacey did a nice job posing in front of a red caboose at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.
Later in the afternoon, Tom and I had teeth cleaning dental appointments in Flagstaff. Dentist Benjamin Stark is very thorough and his staff is excellent.
I never tire of the signs depicting that the town of Williams is the Gateway to the Grand Canyon!
On Tax Day, April 15, Tom had an appointment with a new fellow from the Flagstaff Guidance Center. Reuben is his name. Tom will miss Melanie, but Reuben comes to Williams several times a month --- just like Melanie did.

Later in the afternoon, Jan had a pedicure appointment with Vinny at Lush Salon. Preston and Lacey wanted to cuddle with me on the couch.
I ordered a new flagpole and a new flag from Amazon. The wind in Williams creates a shorter life for things that live outdoors. Tom helped me set-up these two items in the front of the house.
I ordered two new things on the internet. One was initiating a Hello Fresh subscription. Hello Fresh is a service that delivers dinner menus and all of the ingredients for each meal ordered. The first arrival will be in a week. The second item I purchased was a Phonak gadget that allows Tom and I to listen to our television with a Bluetooth connection to our hearing devices.
The town of Williams is finally paving my Pinehurst Drive street. This is the first time it has been paved in over twenty years. Yes!
On Friday, April 17, I took Jan to Bearizona. Of course, we had to capture a photo with the two of us posing with the bear.
Tom came with us as well.
In the drive-thru part of Bearizona, the wolves were active.

In the walk-thru section, the Grizzly bears were out and about as well.
Saturday morning, Jan, Lacey, Preston, and I went to Buckskinner Lake. We parked the truck in the National Forest parking lot and walked the road to the lake. It was a beautiful day.
With the mild 2025-2026 winter, the lake was low. You didn't need the dam to cross over to the other side.
In the afternoon, we went to dry Holden Lake and walked some in the woods there.

Sunday, I gave my third application of MiracleGro on the flowers and plants in the front and back yards. The lilacs were thrilled.
Monday afternoon, Jan and I took the dogs back to the east end of Cataract Lake.
There were some very nice clouds in the sky.

Preston and Lacey travel well together in the back seat of the truck.
My sister Carrie and her husband Brent are enjoying their six-week stay in Georgia. They took grandson Colter to the Atlanta Zoo.

Colter is quite a cutie. His new little sister, Callie, is adorable as well.
