The August sunsets are so very beautiful!
The Bernstein family is all together in Alaska. Meghan's boyfriend, Teddy, is also there.
These are the last two picture posts that I will have in my blog of the Bernstein family. There has been a falling out. Almost two years ago, I had a conversation with Donna about Covid-19 and the vaccines. I shared with her my thoughts and opinion. Donna vehemently disagreed. Somehow my tone disturbed her greatly. She currently does not want me in the life of the Bernstein family.
Tom came up to the Manley Racquet Courts to drill with Jon. It was nice to see him on the pickleball courts.
It was also a nice time to take some "family" photos.
There was also a photo taken of me and Tom.
I was able to take a walk over to Cataract Lake. Lovely!
On Wednesday, Colleen came to service our house. She always does an excellent job!
That evening, we had another gorgeous sunset.
Tom worked on cleaning his boat that is listed for sale. A fellow contacted him and wanted to drive up to Williams and see it on Friday.
Unfortunately, the fellow never showed up. But, the boat is pristine clean.
On Friday, I took Jamie to his physical therapy session at Canyon Pet Hospital.
One of my Highland Meadows ladies saw a doe with her two fawns. Precious!
On Saturday, I went to Cataract Lake to join a walking group. The only other people who showed up was the organizer, Diane King, and her husband, Greg.
Too bad, as it was a very pretty day.
Later in the afternoon, I went to pick up several more caches. The first cache I found was a Mystery Cache. I had to answer eight questions to determine the GPS coordinates of the container.
The other three caches were over near the housing community of Sherwood Forest. I found "Bear stump," Yellow Pillar," and Stone Cold Rock Garden.
August 17 is the wedding anniversary of Tom's sister Pat Warner and her husband Frank Ruggieri. It is their 22nd anniversary. They went to dinner at the Capital Grille in Ft Myers..
On Sunday, August 18, my grandnephew Colter was in Bend celebrating his 6 month birthday with his mom and his grandparents --- Carrie and Brent.
August 18 is also the first birthday of my grandniece, Lily. My sister Wendy loves granddaughter Lily.
Of course, Lily's parents, Katelyn and Dan, enjoyed the celebration as well.
On Monday, Jon and I played pickleball with Kelly and Sivert Fogerlie. Kelly and Sivert live down in the Phoenix area and are staying in Williams for a month.
The Grand Canyon Railway takes the steam engines to the Grand Canyon the first Saturday of every month and on special days like Earth Day. I can never get enough of those steam engines!!! 💕💕💕
That evening, we enjoyed the August Sturgeon Moon.
Tuesday, Tom and I had an appointment with Dr. Figueroa at noon.
We decided to have "Taco Tuesday" lunch in Flagstaff. We selected La Fonda Mexican Restaurant.
Wednesday, Jamie had his weekly physical therapy session at Canyon Pet Hospital. He loves his "movie star" sun glasses.
The sunflowers and the blue skies of August can't be beat!
Friday, I walked across Country Club Road --- into the forest --- to look for lobster mushrooms. The mushrooms were there --- just somewhat buried under pine needles.
I brought the lobster mushrooms home.
Later that evening, President Trump had a rally in Glendale, Arizona. Earlier in the day, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced that he was suspending his candidacy for president. At the Trump Rally, Bobby Kennedy showed up and endorsed President Trump. It was amazing!
Saturday afternoon, there was a nice group of pickleball players (from left to right --- Sivert, Robbie, Kelly, me, Phil, Karen, and Jon).
After pickleball, Jon came over to our house. He went into the nearby forest and picked some lobster mushrooms.
That evening, we had some rain. One of my neighbors caught a photo of the rainbow.
On Sunday, Tom joined me to look for lobster mushrooms. We both were successful.
Jon brought over his dehydrator machine. We cut up the mushrooms and placed them on the racks. They are then cooked for ten hours.
That
evening, we had some lobster mushrooms with dinner. Unfortunately, the
mushrooms did not agree with me. Tom read that sometimes people become
allergic to the mushrooms. Jon was the beneficiary of the jar of
dehydrated lobster mushrooms!
Di
and Greg Jonsen were back in Williams for several days. Greg is having
surgery on his neck in September. But Di played some pickleball with
us!
Monday,
Tom and I had late afternoon appointments in Flagstaff. So, we decided
to have an early dinner at Josephine's Modern American Bistro.
Roland and Kristine Manahan are in Williams for a week. We played pickleball with Roland on Tuesday and Thursday.
