Wednesday, July 17 through Sunday, August 11, 2024: RNC Convention, Pickleball, Jamie's PT, Life in Williams

The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee convened this week. President Donald John Trump selected as his Vice President running mate, JD Vance from Ohio. The convention was very celebratory and full of MAGA enthusiasm.

The Highland Meadows Ladies had lunch at Station 66 Italian Bistro.

My grandnephew Colter celebrated his six month birthday on Thursday, July 18.

There is a lone doe roaming our neighborhood. It is that time of year for female mule deer to give birth.

Friday night, there was a beautiful sunset.

Over the weekend, my neighbors --- Jimmy and Hillary Wilson --- had their house painted. It went from sky blue to a nice subtle green.

I texted a photo to my former neighbor, Connie Leadebrand. She and Jay sold the home to the Wilsons in 2019.

Monday morning, two mice were trapped in the garage trash can. We have had a dozen mice fall victim to this trash can.

On my way to the gym, I released them on the east side of Cataract Lake.

One of my living room end tables had a number of scratches in the wood. I went to True Value Hardware and purchased a pen to repair the scratches. This table was acquired in 1999 when Richard and I lived in Denver.

That evening, we had the Buck full moon.
Wednesday, the Highland Meadows Ladies had lunch at Nanys Tacos. It was our first time in their new location on Railway.

Thursday morning, five of us played pickleball. Jon was kind enough to take a photo of Karen, Phil, Suzanne and me. This was Suzanne's last day of pickleball with us in Williams. She is heading back to Havasu City.

Late that afternoon, a doe and a fawn passed by our home. The fawn was recently birthed and frolicked in the tall weeds.

On Friday, Jamie and I went to Flagstaff for his physical therapy. He is on a regime to strengthen the muscles in his back legs. Technician Sandy started him on a regular treadmill.
Saturday, Tom sold his generator to a "Hippy" couple from Valle. Good news!

Sunday, my cousin's wife, Kathy Boggs, posted 1st birthday photos of her granddaughter, Maddie (Madison). Maddie's father is Jason. Maddie's birthday is July 19.

On the last day of July, I did a Geocaching Adventure Lab in Williams called "A Short Tour of Williams."
On Thursday, August 1, Tom joined me on another Geocaching Adventure Lab called "Historic Route 66: Williams, AZ." This Historic Route 66 series goes from Chicago to Santa Monica.

My granddaughter, Emily, posted some Instagram photos of her and granddaughter, Meghan. Emily recently took the BAR exam and she was relieved that it was over.

Jamie had another Physical Therapy session at Canyon Pet Hospital on Friday.
That day, I made arrangements to board Kelsey and Jamie for three weeks in October --- when I am on my cruise with Barbara Coad. I selected Wags & Whiskers Pet Resort in West Flagstaff. They will share a deluxe room.

On Saturday, Tom and I went to a couples Baby Shower for Alie Rico and her husband Eduardo and their 16 year old son, Brandon.

It was a very nice event with great food! After the shower, I took a walk around the golf course.
With the monsoon season, the sunflowers are blooming beautifully.
That evening, we had some good thunder and lightening.
On Sunday, Kim and Jordana Kelley joined us for some pickleball.

In a week, Jordana is heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for a year of Bible College.

On Monday, Tom joined me to find a cache named "Benham Trail." The cache owner recently replaced the missing container and moved the location to a better place.
Tuesday, I had a Flagstaff carpet cleaning company attack our bedroom and reading room. Brian and his son did a very thorough job. My dogs are getting old and a few "accidents" prevailed.

Wednesday, I went to DJs Wild West Junction for lunch with the Highland Meadows ladies.

In the afternoon, Jerry from Appliance Service Today came to look at why our garage refrigerator was not cooling properly. He found that the fan needs to be replaced. Jerry ordered the part and will come back next week.

On our front porch, we have a leaking facet. The technician from Sutton Plumbing was able to fix it promptly. Oh, the challenges of home ownership! 😕😕😕
On Thursday, Alie Rico gave me a fill and a pedicure. Alie's baby boy is due October 10.

Alie had several TRUMP MAGA 2024 lawn signs. I took one for my home.

Friday, I had two appointments in Flagstaff. Jamie had his physical therapy session.
And, then I had my hair appointment with Shawna at Wildflower Salon. I brought a dog bed for Jamie to sleep on.

Saturday, we delighted in a very pretty sky with clouds and Bill Williams Mountain.

I went to the Williams Gardeners Market and bought lobster mushrooms. Yummy!

Two years ago, Jon and I found lobster mushrooms about 1/3 mile from my house --- in the woods. No luck this year.

Sunday morning, we received rain, hail, and thunder.

That evening, my friends Debbie and Bob Fischler were in town. We met them at the Grand Canyon Brewery for dinner. They brought their two Sheltie dogs --- Kai and GiGi.

On this day, August 11, my Italian son, Francesco Giganti celebrated his 40th birthday in London with his spouse, Thomas.
