Fall is in
the air. The leaves were turning in the local mountains.
On
Wednesday, I took Jamie to Flagstaff for his physical therapy with Sandy. Sandy
was very happy with Jamie's weight loss of six pounds. It helped by applying
less weight load on Jamie's back two legs. Jamie had this infrared treatment.
I think that
Jamie enjoyed being back in the water treadmill.
There was
snow on Mt. Humphreys. It must have snowed Tuesday night --- as there was no
snow yesterday.
Thursday was
Halloween. I had three appointments in Flagstaff. The first appointment was my
chiropractic session with Dr. Moseng. The doctor and his wife were in costume
--- a flight attendant and a pilot.
My second
appointment was with my hair stylist, Shawna Ritter. Shawna was a ghoulish UPS
driver.
Mike
Hippard, my massage therapist was just Mike. In between appointments, I dropped
my "infinity" bracelet at a jeweler. While on the cruise, my bracelet
suffered from the water in the spa whirlpool. In parts, it turned black. It is
amazing what the jeweler accomplished!
On Friday,
Tom and I had appointments in Flagstaff. We drove there together. Tom met with
Dr. Kwong from Phoenix. He is a retina specialist. Dr. Kwong evaluated Tom's right eye and
suggested that Tom postpone any procedure to flatten the scare tissue in his
eye.
Our next
appointment was with Dr. Figueroa. Tom has made significant progress in the
past year that we have been meeting with him. This will be our final
appointment in 2024. I took a photo of Dr. Figueroa and Tom. They both were born
in 1947 and are 77 years old.
On Saturday,
I walked Kelsey and Jamie to Cataract Lake. Now that their stamina is
heightened, I can walk them longer distances again.
Later in the
afternoon, I had an appointment at the Lush Beauty Bar in Williams. Joey did my
gel manicure and Vinny did my pedicure.
Sunday, we
had snow! I went to Bethany Chapel for church at 9:00 a.m. The snow appeared
soon after.
Flagstaff Smiles.
Tom had a
1:30 p.m. appointment with Dr. Mahanti, his ophthalmologist. I had an appoint
with Dr. Lund, my ENT doctor. Dr. Lund was gracious enough to allow me to take
a photo.
Mt.
Humphreys received another good amount of snow. I am sure that the Snow Bowl
will open early.
Monday
afternoon, some mule deer wandered along our property line to visit the golf
course.
Tuesday, I
drove to Flagstaff for two appointments. I had a facial with Marissa at Junto
Skin & Laser. My second appointment was with Audiologist, Kerry Beasley at
NorthStar Medical.
Today is
Election Day. Donald J. Trump is running against Kamala Harris. Tom and I voted
early. We dropped our absentee ballots in the drop box by the Williams City
Hall. I have prayed over and over for the election of President Trump.
Early
Wednesday morning, the good news arrived! Donald J. Trump will be our 47th
president!
Every year,
Williams hires a company to assemble a large Christmas tree on 2nd Street. This
year is no different!
I took the
dogs up to Cataract Lake again. On the way back, I noticed that the Landscaping
firm is working on my neighbor's front lawn. Tom and I met neighbor Karen
Fletcher two days ago. This is house #4 for her. For tax purposes, she needs to
rent the home for at least two weeks out of year.
Kelsey and
Jamie have a monthly Librela shot. They had 10:30 a.m. appointments at Williams
Veterinary Wellness. Dr. Ryan was in the lobby as we waited for the technician
to administer the injections.
I drove
Kelsey and Jamie to Flagstaff. They had appointments at Canyon Pet Hospital.
Jamie had his final physical therapy session and Kelsey had her anal glands expressed.
Kelsey joined us the physical therapy room. She followed Jamie while he
was exercising with Sandy.
This winter,
I decided to hire someone to check the house twice a month. I reached out to
Payce Mortensen. He is the son of our landscaper, Troy. Payce has a real estate
and property management business. For $50 a visit, Payce agreed to perform the
job. He came over to our house Thursday --- to see what needs to be done. Thank
you, Payce!
Saturday,
Tom and I had a phone conference call with Maria Gillespie of Crest Insurance.
This is the time of year that Maria evaluates if we should make any changes to
our Medicare medical plans and our prescription drug provider. The answer was no changes. Kelsey and Jamie
participated by sleeping together on one dog bed!
I now attend
Calvary Chapel of Williams. Karen and Phil Whisnant, who I play pickleball
with, both attend this church. Also, my neighbors Ann and Rick Steppey are very
active in this congregation. The former pastor of First Baptist Church of
Williams --- Joe Oswald --- is an associate pastor. I really like this church
and the pastor, Dave Remender. Dave and his wife, Jo, moved to Williams in
2002. They retired from Orange County in Southern California.
After
church, I drained my hot tub. The water needed to be changed. Tom was kind
enough to help me completely drain the water and clean the empty spa.
Since
returning from my cruise, Tom and I have been playing games on the dining room
table. We begin with our Happy Hour cocktails. Then, after dinner, we resume
play. Our game assortment right now is Dominoes and Rummikub. We purchased a
new game, Tri-ominos, since the recommendation of Tom's sister Pat Warner.
On Monday, a
game table I purchased on Amazon arrived. Unfortunately, it is too large for
our need. I am not able to return it --- unless I want to forfeit most of the
purchase price. The purpose of the table was for use in our travel trailer in Casa
Grande. Tom will try to sell it on Facebook Marketplace in the Spring.
It is Veteran's
Day, November 11. One of my Highland Meadows friends, Karen Berger and her
husband Steve, started geocaching. They found one of my caches in Highland
Meadows. It was their first find!
Tom and I played Mexican Train Dominoes.
My brother
Peter and his wife Terry are in Vietnam. They are on a tour sponsored by Cal
Berkeley (University of California, Berkeley) where Peter went for his
undergraduate college degree. Peter was very thoughtful in sharing some of
their photos.
My sister
Wendy and her husband Kai are in Hawaii. They are staying on the island of Maui
for two weeks. Wendy will be celebrating her 70th birthday on November 17.
Wendy also posted some photos.
Tuesday, I called Sutton Plumbing. Our laundry room sink has a leaking faucet.
Jordan was prompt in coming to our home and installing a new faucet. Dependent on the Williams True Value Hardware, we purchased a simple bathroom faucet that did not have a long spout.
On
Wednesday, I attended lunch with eight of my Highland Meadows "Lovely
Lunch Ladies." We had lunch at El Commodore Mexican Restaurant. This will
be my last lunch with the group this year.
Thursday,
Jamie had an evaluation appointment for his physical therapy in Flagstaff.
Senior Veterinary Technician Kelly at Canyon Pet Hospital performed the review
of Jamie's progress. Sandy also participated.
Jamie's has
neurological damage in this lower spine. The physical therapy helps keeping his
muscle strength. Acupuncture is another recommended therapy for Jamie. We will
have to postpone this until our return to Northern Arizona the end of March.
There is a
struggling family here in Williams. The Parkers have six children and they live
in a single wide trailer near the Mormon Church. I volunteered to give them
some decorations for Christmas.
My Shutterfly Christmas cards arrived. This year, I spent extra money to have a heavy stock paper. I really like the card, but I don't think I will order the thicker paper next year.
Friday
morning, I ran errands around Williams. I had an appointment at Sandoval Tire
to have my truck tires rotated. It is a free service because I bought four
tires there in April, 2023.

The Williams
Post Office has an unimpressive supply of stamps. I stopped by the Williams
Library and reconnected with Kelly Oswald. Her husband was Pastor Joe at First
Baptist Church in 2016. Kelly is the high school librarian and she works
Fridays at the Coconino County Public Library in Williams.
Saturday, my
girlfriend Paula Browne posted a photo of her husband, Leeton, and their TWO
Corgis. Paula and Leeton got Cosmo in June last year. They now adopted Butter.
Sunday
morning, I was back at Calvary Chapel for church. This will be my last visit of
the year.
My sister
Wendy celebrated her 70th birthday in Maui, Hawaii. Nice photo of her, husband
Kai, and youngest daughter Kerry.
My sister
-in-law, Terry, celebrated her November 18 birthday in Vietnam.
My sister
Carrie and her husband Brent now live full-time in Bend, Oregon. They had the
son of Amy and Brett Naylor visit from Christchurch, New Zealand. On the same
day, it was sunny...
Then, Bend
received its first snow of the winter.
