I picked up the dogs Friday at noon. I was feeling a lot
better. Fernando took such good care of Kelsey and Jamie.
My sister Carrie and her husband Brent posted photos of
their cross country ski lessons at Mt. Bachelor.
Before having dinner at El Charro Original Cafe in Tucson, Tom and I had pre-dinner cocktails in the restaurant bar. My blog post ran out of space, so I had to delete the photos from this part of the evening. It is nice to start a new blog post so I can play "catch up."
Saturday evening brought us some magnificent clouds with the sun setting.
The Organization of Women Executives had their annual Spa Weekend in Carlsbad. While I dropped my membership in this group in 2021, I still have OWE friends who post photos on Facebook. Jane Brust lives in South Pasadena. She posted this photo of the "Pasadena area" members. One, of course, is my longtime friend Honoria Vivell --- bottom right.
Jeff D'Arpa and his wife Lisa celebrated a wedding anniversary at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Jeff was kind to post this beautiful "winter wonder" photo of the canyon. One never tires of this beauty!
Sunday night, Tom and I had tickets to a Beach Boys Tribute Concert at Palm Creek Resort. The doors opened at 5:00 p.m. We arrived at about 6:15 p.m. The Activities Center said that attendees were not allowed to "Save Seats." Ya, right.
The concert itself was excellent. The band did an excellent job capturing Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys.
Monday, Jon texted his Dad. He wanted to know if we wanted to join him for lunch. Yes! The three of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings.
Wednesday, friends Carolyn and David Cole came to Casa Grande. We made arrangements to meet them for lunch a Su Casa Grande Mexican Grill and Cantina. Carolyn and David were coming back from a three night getaway to Benson, Arizona.
I have known David since 2006. Richard, David, and I were in the same South Rim new employee orientation. Richard and I attended David and Carolyn's marriage at the Grand Canyon in 2008.
The Palm Creek Membership Pickleball Tournament was February 27 through March 2. Two of my friends, Susan Gibbs and Roxie Larson advanced to 4.0 level play. Although they were recent additions to this level of play, they won the 4.0 women's tournament.
Friday, I dropped Kelsey and Jamie off at Paw Ranch. I then drove to Southern California. Marshall Rutter's Memorial Service was on Saturday. My bother Peter and his wife Terry were in town and I was able to spend two nights at their home in San Gabriel.
Terry's mother Dudley and my sister Wendy and her husband Kai joined us for the Friday night dinner.
On Saturday morning, I met Barbara Coad and Denise Solis for an early lunch at Julienne Cafe in San Marino. Denise lost her husband --- and our longtime friend --- Carlos Solis on Christmas Day. Barbara and I were not able to attend the February 7 Memorial Service, so we took Denise to lunch.
After lunch, I dropped by to see my friend Honoria Vivell. She had hip replacement surgery on Wednesday. Her husband Richard Petrie was taking good care of her.
The Marshall Rutter Memorial Service was at All Saints Church in Pasadena. Marshall and Richard were named partners in a law firm from 1972 to 1985. Marshall died on December 4. He was 93.
The Memorial Service included 40 members of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. In 1963, Marshall was a member of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. The concept of a professional chorale group was ignited then.
What a magnificent celebration! It was also "old home week." I enjoyed seeing Marshall's wife of 32 years --- Terry Knowles --- and the Rutter family.
It was great seeing members of the old law firm, spouses, and significant others.
My sister Carrie and her daughter Lauren posted some fun photos of the "Georgia clan" visiting Bend, Oregon. They took Carrie's grandson, Coulter, to a snow park.
Coulter enjoyed being with his Mom, Dad, and Grandparents. What a happy baby boy!
Jon played on Sunday at the Palm Creek Membership Pickleball Tournament. He and his partner Dan Davis played at the men's 5.0 level.
Jon and Dan took Silver in the 50+ Men's Doubles category. They took Gold in the younger category --- as they were the only team.
I drove back to Casa Grande on Sunday. Tom and I headed up to Mesa, Arizona, on Monday, afternoon. We stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites and we had dinner at the Seafood Market & Restaurant.
My second cataract surgery was scheduled for the next morning. Tom and I arrived at the Surgery Center at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. I was out of the center by 9:00 a.m.
Paw Ranch was kind enough to send me a video of Kelsey and Jamie. They are looking great!
Williams received some snow Monday. It is nice being able to capture pictures with my BLINK cameras.
One of my Highland Meadows neighbors posted this beautiful photo on Facebook.
Paw Ranch sent me some more photos of Kelsey and Jamie. Lou and Fernando take such good care of my elderly babies!
Thursday, I had a hair appointment with Miranda Palmer at Bloom Salon. I took a selfie of my color setting.
That afternoon, I attended a Ross Talk on “9/11 - Facts & Fictions.” Ross Holcomb presents some very interesting topics. This season, this was the only talk I was able to attend.
The next day, Casa Grande got a lot of rain. I was glad that we were not picking up Kelsey and Jamie until Saturday at noon.
Tom and I had New England clam chowder and a chicken pot pie for dinner We picked it up at the Bistro Cafe here at Palm Creek Resort.
