Wow! Williams collected 28 inches of snow in 24 hours. This was the same timeframe when Casa Grande received rain. Some of my Highland Meadows neighbors posted photos on Facebook.
At noon on Saturday,
I picked Kelsey and Jamie up at Paw Ranch. They were residents for eight nights. Lou, the owner, was there to help me cart the dogs
into my truck Lou --- and Fernando --- are angels.
That afternoon, Tom and I went to a BBQ Smoke-Off Party on Silver Moon Lane in Palm Creek Resort. The hosts were Nancy and Rick from Lot 1588. Tom's son Jon was one of five judges. It was a very nice event. There was even music provided by a Palm Creek DJ, Mike Cobb.
Attendees brought side dishes and desserts to compliment the selection of meat.
Sunday, I went to the Pinal County Cowboy Church with Sue and Scott. I had not attended church since my baptism five weeks earlier.
This day was also Tom's 78th birthday. I made reservations at Legends Restaurant at Francisco Grande. Over the weekend, this restaurant serves prime rib. Yummy! Tom, Jon, and I had a pre-dinner drink at Duke's Bar. Over Tom's shoulder, there was a photo of John "Duke" Wayne.
For dessert, the waitress brought a "Happy Birthday" platter with a chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, and all the fixings.
It was a very nice celebration. On the way back to Palm Creek, we found the Casa Grande Neon Sign Park.
Monday, I had a ninety minute massage with Cathy Kelly. She suggested that we go back to the Neon Sign Park when the museum is open.
My sister Carrie posted an Instagram photo of her and her husband Brent cross country skiing in the mountains near their home in Bend.
Tuesday morning, Kelsey had a teeth cleaning appointment with Dr. Brian Renegar. Brian and his wife and their two Corgis moved into a newly built home the middle of last. They live in a 55+ housing development called Robson Ranch that is just 15 minutes from Casa Grande. Dr. Renegar has a veterinary table with all the equipment in his garage.
One of my Highland Meadows neighbors posted a beautiful sunset photo.
Another neighbor posted a photo of the golf course with snow.
Thursday night, Williams received another 8-10 inches of snow. One of my outdoor cameras caught the crispness of the fresh blanket.
Several of my Highland Meadows neighbors shred more photos on Facebook.
.
There was a fun group photo taken.
Afterwards, thirteen of us played over an hour of Bumbee Ball.
That evening, there was a magnificent sunset over the park.
Monday morning, Kelsey and Jamie shared the same dog bed for some time. Funny!
That afternoon, Tom and I had chiropractic appointments with Dr. Tim Hoyt. This was our last appointment of the season.
Tuesday morning, I went to Banner Urgent Care. I had blood in my urine and I was having difficulty urinating. I met with PA Jason Haugen and he prescribed an antibiotic. Thanks so much!
Tuesday evening was the Palm Creek Pickleball Club Dance. The theme was 1970s Disco. Our neighbors Marilee and Ron dressed the part.
The band was Thaddeus Rose. They are excellent musicians, but their music is more modern and popular than rock 'n roll and country western.
Tom and I are not ones to dress up in costumes. But we had a nice photo taken with one of the table centerpiece decorations.
Wednesday morning, Ross from Norris RV Mobile Service came to fix several water leaks. Since it is nearing the end of the season, someone from Norris RV was not able to come to our trailer for nearly three weeks. The first thing that Ross fixed was the leak under the bathroom sink. Two washers were replaced.
What a coincidence!!! Ross only works for Norris RV in the winter. It turns out that Ross lives in Williams --- up Highway 64 --- closer to Valle. It also turns out that Ross is from Grand Island, Nebraska. That is where my daughter-in-law Joell is from! The second thing Ross looked at was the leak coming from one of the living room lights. He went up on the roof and caulked a wire box that may have created the leak. He also caulked the skylight perimeter above the shower.
Fortunately, Norris RV had a replacement light in inventory for the living room ceiling. Ross drove back to the store, brought back the new light, and installed it.
Thursday morning, Kelsey and Jamie had a nail grooming appointment with Giovanni of Pawfect Mobile Grooming. It is so convenient having the groomer come directly to our site.
Friday, on my first walk with Kelsey, I saw a hot air balloon up in the air by our street.
I grabbed Kelsey and we walked north on Cole Circle to get another photo. This was only the second hot air balloon that I have seen since being here this season.
At 9:30 a.m., I had an appointment with Dustin at NailIt Salon to have a french manicure dip. This will be my last one for the season.
Later in the afternoon, I had my last appointment with Dr. Tracy Hutchings of Barnett, Delaney and Perkins Eye Center in Chandler. Associates of Dr. Hutchings completed a refraction. I now have a eye glass prescription for my astigmatism.
That evening, I suggested to Tom that we dine out. We had not been to Taco Giro for over a year. So, we went there for Mexican seafood and tasty margaritas.
Saturday, Tom and Jon went to lunch together at Su Casa Grande Mexican Grill and Cantina. I played my final Palm Creek pickleball round robin of the season. Jon and Tom made plans for our departure to Williams next week.
Sunday at 2:00 p.m., I played my final games of Bumbee Ball for the season. It was a fairly hot day.
It was the last day that I would see my friends, Sue and Scott Svejcar. They built a home in Quail Creek at Robson Ranch in Green Valley, Arizona. Sue and Scott move into that new home on Thursday, March 27.
