Monday morning, I took advantage of
the "local discount" to ride the Canyon Coaster.
I took two rides on the coaster ---
each one cost me $5.00. The normal price of one ride is $20.00. This promotion
was for a one month period --- May 21 through June 20.
Tom and I walked around our
neighborhood block. The City of Williams is repaving Brookhollow Drive.
After Peter and Terry attended the
London wedding, they flew to Dublin to meet up with their three children. They
are going to be touring Ireland for several weeks.
On Tuesday, Tom and I went to
Flagstaff. Tom had an appointment with the Northern Arizona University
Audiology Department. Tom met with Dr. Michael Skelton. Dr. Skelton confirmed
that Tom had severe hearing loss. He strongly suggested that Tom consider
hearing devices. Tom did make a follow-up appointment for an hearing aide
evaluation.
Our friend Libby Beatty brought her
travel trailer up to Kaibab Lake. She had a reservation there for thirteen
nights. Libby dropped by our home. Her solar panel is not charging properly.
She borrowed several ice chests to protect the contents in her refrigerator.
Tom, Libby, and I met for dinner on
Wednesday night. We had dinner at the new "Miss Kitty's Bar and
Restaurant." While dining, Libby eyed a "paint by number" piece
of art on the wall near our table.
Friday morning, Tom and I had a
protein drink for breakfast. Tom's son, Jon, gave us a recipe that he really
likes a lot.
My brother Peter and his wife Terry
texted me a photo of the two of them at the Cliffs of Moher. What beautiful
weather they are having!
I finally decided that it was time
to contact someone to check on my one air conditioner that is not turning on. I
had put a call into Bob at R&R Heating and Cooling. With no response, I
ended up calling Manny at 1 Source Refrigeration. They have a 24 hour REAL
PERSON answering service. Initially, Manny was going to come to our house the
next day. Instead, the appointment was changed to Saturday morning. Manny found
the problem immediately --- two loose wires. Voila! The unit works again.
In the early afternoon, I went to
Kaibab Lake to visit Libby at her site #15. We walked the two miles around
Kaibab Lake.
The day before, Libby had taken her trailer to the RV dealership
where it had been bought. Since the trailer was still under warranty, the
dealer resolved the issue of her solar panel. Libby has a nice campsite.
Sunday morning, I drove to Los
Angeles to visit my sister Kimberly. She is temporarily living at Gooden
Residence. Over the years, Kim has had a problem with drugs. The Gooden
Residence is a facility that works with people who want to be rehabilitated.

Kim and I had two hours together.
Kim showed me a rowing machine that she like to use. It is the same rowing
machine that Tom uses at Results Fitness.
Kim's roommate, Jane, took a photo
of the two of us in the backyard
After visiting Kim, I drove to
Pasadena and had dinner with Barbara Coad at Sushi Roku. It was a nice time.
The sushi was "so-so."
I spent the night at my brother's
home in San Gabriel. Peter and Terry won't be back from Ireland for another three days.
Peter texted me the final photo of
the "Fabulous Five" plus Jack's girlfriend, Abby. They were in
Galway, Ireland, for their final night there.
On Tuesday, six of us played pickleball.
My friend Libby joined us. Libby has improved her pickleball game since we last
played together in 2019!
Wednesday morning, Atomic Pest
Control came to service our home. Today, the technician was Logan from Gilbert,
Arizona. He was covering for a vacationing Brenden.
Tom had an appointment with Melanie
Platt from the Guidance Center. She and her associate were working out of a
mobile unit parked by the Catholic Church.
In the early afternoon, I walked to
Cataract Lake.
With Tom's input, I made the very
difficult decision to put Kelsey asleep. For the past couple of days, she
stopped eating. She spent all day napping.
When I tried to take Kelsey for a
walk, she just froze. My dear little 14 year old Dalmatian was ready to join
her brother, Jamie. Tom took a final photo of me with Kelsey.
I made an afternoon appointment at
Williams Veterinary Wellness. Tom and I said our goodbyes to Kelsey.
Dr. Ryan
finalized everything.
The candle in the lobby was lit to indicate that loved
ones were saying good-bye to their beloved pet.
