The new pavement project by the Williams Street Department continued on. It was estimated that it would take another week to complete.
In the evening of April 22, my sister Carrie and her husband Brent had dinner with my first cousin Donna Haste and her husband Rick in Cartersville, Georgia. Donna and Rick live in nearby Woodstock,Georgia. What a wonderful reunion!
The Grand Canyon Railway celebrates Earth Day each year. On this day, the steam locomotive engines take the train up to the canyon and back again. I love the steam engines!
On Friday, April 24, the City of Williams sponsored the "Clean Up The Mother Road" trash pick-up event. I did my part in my Highland Meadows community.
When I was last in Flagstaff, I stopped at Warner's Nursery and bought two starter-size red hot poker flowers to plant in my back yard. I placed them in the ground today.
Preston enjoys laying in the sun. I decided to place one of the orthopedic beds outside for his enjoyment. I think he likes it!
That evening, I cooked our first Hello Fresh dinner. Our first order arrived the day before. My friend Jan Miller uses Hello Fresh. She likes to take a photo of the menu card and the completed dinner. Voila!
Tom has been trying to sell my old Member's Mark barbecue on Facebook Marketplace. He was successful! A fellow from Flagstaff bought it for $275. Yes!
Preston and I took a walk Sunday afternoon. We walked up to the "North 40" of Highland Meadows. It was a walk with threatening clouds.
Lucia Spark and I are having a Garage Sale on May 1 and May 2. Lucia lives in town at Pine Trail development. It made sense to have the sale closer to town center. So, I placed notices in the post office, the bank, and Safeway.
Over the weekend, my Italian son Francesco ran in the London Marathon.
Francesco's parents and his one aunt --- all three from Florence --- were in London for the event.
Monday afternoon, I took Preston on a nice long walk around the golf course. The view from Country Club Drive of Mt. Humphreys in the distance was so beautiful.
This week, I began to organize items to be sold at the Garage Sale. There are dog crates and dog beds galore!
Tuesday was the final day of the street pavement project on Pinehurst Drive. My street is newly paved! The last time it was paved was over 20 years ago!
Tom had an appointment in Flagstaff. I decided to join him. After his procedure, we went to Mama B's for hamburgers. Yummy!
That evening, we had our second Hello Fresh dinner. The preparation can be lengthy, but the food is very tasty and good.
Wednesday morning, Tom and I went to Lucia's home. We brought the tables and most of the things to be sold. Lucia needed some help pricing some of her garage sale items.
Later in the afternoon, after my Highland Meadows lunch at the brewery, I had a facial with Dakota Dent. She is the granddaughter of our mayor, Don Dent.
Thursday morning, several deer were walking by our house. I sent a photo to Jan. She and Lacey are in Litchfield Park ---trying to organize her final to the Phoenix area.
Preston and I went for several walks on Thursday. It is always fun taking a photo of Preston by the sign for Elephant Rocks Golf Course.
We another walking trail was Cataract Lake.
Thursday afternoon, Lucia and I set-up her garage for the sale. Some of the items will be moved out on the driveway.
