Wags & Whiskers Pet Resort sends
photos of their guests. I cute photo of Kelsey arrived in my email inbox.
It's Monday, May 19. 🎂
Happy Birthday to me! 🎂 It was a little drizzly, so after breakfast we
drove the truck to the Nedra Matteucci Galleries. Debbie and Bob Fischler said
that visiting this gallery was a must. The gallery was just up the street from
our hotel.
Tom and I arrived around 11:00 a.m.
Coincidentally, Nedra herself --- the gallery owner --- came into the gallery
right behind us. I had Tom snap a photo of me with Nedra. Fun!
It is hard to believe that Nedra is
in her early 80s!!!
The gallery was like a museum. There
were paintings, sculptures, etches, rugs, and jewelry.
The outside gardens were beautiful
--- lawns, water features, ponds, and huge sculptures.
Later in the afternoon, we decided
to do a little sightseeing. Tom and I walked to the Loretto Chapel Museum to
view the special spiral staircase.
That evening, we had dinner
reservations at Sazon. Tom had duck and I had halibut. The food was awesome!
Because of my birthday, the server
presented me with a berry dessert called Princessa. Yummy!
Tuesday morning, it was time to
leave our beautiful room with a fireplace.
It was a six hour drive
back to Williams. Tom and I took turns driving. We gained an hour at the New
Mexico and Arizona border. The timing was such that we picked up Kelsey at Wags
& Whiskers a day early.
One of my neighbors posted a
beautiful photo of the golf course and Bill Williams Mountain on Facebook.
There was also a photo of a gorgeous
sunset in town. Tom and I do live in a beautiful place!
Wednesday, I joined some of my
Highland Meadows "Luscious Ladies" group for lunch at Cruisers
66.
For the lunch crowd, there was a
guitar player/singer serenading the guests.
Thursday, I had a hair appointment
with Shawna. I decided to head to Flagstaff early and walk around Buffalo Park.
Shawna was on time for my 1:00 p.m.
appointment.
Tom and I had tickets to the
Bearizona 15th Birthday Bash that evening. The entrance opened at 5:00 p.m.
There were food stands and bar stands. Our friend Alie Rico was one of the
bartenders.

Tom had a pulled pork sandwich and I
had a Navajo Taco. The margaritas were very tasty. The band was Total Country.
They were excellent.
Tom and I danced.
What a delightful event!
Friday, I had a 90 minute massage
with Julie. It is wonderful having an excellent massage therapist here in
Williams.
Sunday was the 109th Indianapolis
500. Tom and I watched the race on our television. Rain delays made the start
begin at 10:30 a.m. our time.
The
winner was a Spaniard --- Alex Palou. This was his first Indy 500 win.
Later in the afternoon, I walked
around Cataract Lake. This was my first walk around the lake this year.
My sister Kim is being treated for drug addiction at a resident facility in La Crescenta. My brother Peter says that Kim is doing great and looks great. Peter and Terry went to visit her. Nice!
Tom and I continue to be regular gym attendees. In addition to the recumbent stationary bikes, Tom likes the treadmill and the rowing machine.
From time to
time, we enjoy the deer wandering by our house --- on the way to the golf course.
There was a
cache in town that I was not able to find a year or two ago. In fact, no one
has found it for over a year. A fellow who lives in Williams --- CanyonDen --- decided to place
a new cache container in the same location. He is not the original owner of the
cache. Thank-you, CanyonDen! Tom and I found the cache above Santa Fe Dam.
Tuesday, May
27, was the first day of Competitive Pickleball Play for us in Williams. There were just four of
us --- Ray, Kelly, Suzanne, and me. It was great being back on the courts
again.
Wednesday, Tom and I drove to Flagstaff. He had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Bills of Barnet, Delaney, Perkins Eye Center. All was good.
One of my Highland Meadows lady friends had a stationary bike that she wanted to give away. Tom and I went to look at it. Voila! We now have a small recumbent bike!
Thursday
night was Sultana Dance Night. There were two couples and one woman named Mary.
Teresa, once again, was a delightful instructor.
Friday
night, Tom and I went to Frontier Family Fun Restaurant. A singer named Marko
was the music. I was impressed as he played a trumpet and a flute. His wife's
mother is a resident of Williams. Marko is originally from the country of Slovenia.
